Shelbie Mabile, a catcher-outfielder for Central Catholic High, signs a letter of intent Monday to attend and play softball for Baton Rouge Community College. She's the second player from Coach Sunni Blanchard's team to sign a college letter within a month. Pitcher Hallie Crappell signed Nov. 18 to play with Regis University in Colorado. Shown at Mabile's signing, front row from left: father Edward Mabile; Mabile; mother Ameline; and sister Lauren. Back row: sister Ashley, brother Luke and grandmother Anna Leggion. The Mabiles are from Pierre Part.

Shelbie Mabile had her eye on Baton Rouge Community College for career training. The BRCC softball coaches had their eye on the Central Catholic High athlete, too.
Santa, local officials, civic groups, dance troupes and high school musicians made their way Sunday down Main Street in Patterson for the annual Christmas Parade.
