Parker Burroughs and Elizabeth Patterson are King and Queen Nike LI. There were presented as the Moon and Sun, respectively, as the children’s Krewe of Nike presented “Nike’s Race to Space” Saturday at the Morgan City Municipal Auditorium. The king is the son of David and Shawn Burroughs. The queen is the daughter of David and Kellye Patterson. Nike will parade at 2 p.m. Feb. 19 behind the women’s Krewe of Galatea parade in Morgan City.
Three area Mardi Gras balls have come and gone, now the women’s Krewe of Galatea is on tap to take the stage.
Four more balls will follow leading up to Fat Tuesday which is Feb. 21.
