Teche Action to hold health fair
In recognition of National Minority Health Month, Teche Action Board will sponsor a health fair Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Franklin Junior High School.
The disciplines represented at the fair will be Pediatrics, OB/GYN, Laboratory, Nutrition, Medicaid, Dental, Behavior Health and Medicare/SHIPP.
According to the board, this National Minority Health Month, they plan to raise awareness about the important role an active lifestyle plays in keeping people healthy.
Physical activity promotes health and reduces the risk of chronic diseases and other conditions that are more common or severe among racial and ethnic minority groups.
