FSHS students help with restoration in BTNR

Franklin High School Agriculture students participated in a restoration project in conjunction with the Bayou Teche National Wildlife Refuge. Brian Pember, a manager of the refuge, provided Franklin High with acorns to conduct a viability test prior to planting to determine which acorns would grow into oak trees. Students planted a three-acre plot with acorns in hope that someday the trees will provide wildlife, including the Louisiana Black Bear, with a quality food source.
