Free wellness event at Walmart Saturday

Walmart will be offering low-cost flu shots and free health screenings on Saturday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Walmart stores across Louisiana. In the Tri-City area, both the Neighborhood Walmart located at 1002 La. 70 in Morgan City and Walmart Supercenter located at 973 U.S. 90 East will be hosting the wellness event.
Walmart is starting the new year by offering these free wellness services and resources to help customers save money and live better in 2020. Walmart is also trying to help customers stay away from the flu.
According to the Center for Disease Control, flu activity is high in the United States and Louisiana has experienced some of the highest flu activity throughout the 2019-2020 flu season. Flu season is expected to continue for weeks and the Center for Disease Control recommends everyone six months and older get a flu shot.
It is not too late to get your flu shot from Walmart during this event.
Along with affordable flu shots, Walmart is offering low-cost immunizations; health screenings which will include total cholesterol, glucose, blood pressure, BMI and vision.
There also will be giveaways, wellness demos and an opportunity to talk with local pharmacists.
