Franklin PD hosts Night Out Against Crime

The Franklin Police Department held a National Night Out Against Crime celebration on Tuesday, Oct. 14 at the City Recreation Center. National Night Out is a reminder of the importance of building trust, fostering relationships and working together to keep Franklin safe and connected. Franklin Police Chief Cedric Handy, pictured above, coordinated the event along with support from Fire Chief Chuck Bourgeois and the Franklin Fire Department, Sheriff Gary Driskell and the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office, Chez Hope, Jones Funeral Home, Teche Health, the DARE program and the City of Franklin Recreation Department. Franklin residents enjoyed hot dogs, popcorn, music, dancing, face painting, giveaways and more while spending time with community leaders and first responders.
