Franklin’s 27th Annual Harvest Moon Festival Set for Oct. 31
Franklin’s Historic Main Street will come alive Saturday, Oct. 31, as the community celebrates the 27th Annual Harvest Moon Festival.
The annual event promises a full day of family fun, local food, live entertainment and activities celebrating the community spirit that has made the festival a Franklin tradition.
Among the day’s featured events will be a 5K Run/Walk supporting Breast Cancer Awareness, giving participants an opportunity to enjoy the festivities while supporting an important cause.
The Franklin Fire Department will also host its popular Running of the Ducks fundraiser. Families can take part in a variety of activities throughout the day, including kids carnival games and the Dash for the Harvest obstacle course.
Young festivalgoers will have plenty to see and do, with a petting zoo, Pooch Parade, face painting and a scarecrow contest. Children can purchase an activity bracelet for $10, providing access to activities throughout the day.
Other highlights include a bass fishing tournament and a Sugarcane Expo, offering visitors a chance to enjoy two activities with deep connections to the area’s outdoor and agricultural traditions.
Food trucks, street vendors and local shops will also be open for business, giving visitors plenty of opportunities to eat, shop and support local businesses.
Music will fill Main Street throughout the celebration, with live entertainment from D.J. Shannon and Johnny Chauvin.
Families, friends and visitors from throughout the area are invited to come downtown, enjoy the activities and celebrate one of Franklin’s most beloved annual traditions sponsored by the Franklin Merchant’s Association.
