Art of Nature exhibit opens with photographer Flores

Photographer John Flores will give a lecture titled, Our Local Playground, at 6 p.m. on May 3 at the Jeanerette Museum at the opening of the Art of Nature photography exhibit.
Flores will discuss the subjects of the exhibit and places in Louisiana that present the best opportunities for wildlife viewing.
John Flores is an award winning outdoor/travel writer and photographer. Flores is the outdoor writer for the Morgan City Daily Review, Franklin Banner-Tribune and www.stmarynow.com. His freelance work includes credits with numerous local and national publications. Some of Flores’ photography work is exhibited in The Cajun Coast Visitor’s Center as well as on Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries educational brochures. Flores is a University of Southwestern Louisiana graduate with a Bachelors degree in General Studies. He is a member of the Southeastern Outdoor Press Association and the Louisiana Outdoor Writers Association.
The Art of Nature Exhibit designed by the Friends of the Bayou Teche National Wildlife Refuge for St. Mary parish is traveling throughout St. Mary and Jeanerette. This exhibit features Flores’ work as he captured the colors and beauty of nature in our area. A meet and greet will follow the talk. The exhibit will be on view at the Jeanerette Museum from May 3 to May 26.
The exhibit opening and lecture is open to the public free of charge. Seating may be limited and taken on a first come, first serve basis. The Jeanerette Museum is located at 500 E. Main St., Jeanerette.
