Teen girl faces two counts of assault

A 15-year-old Patterson girl was booked on simple assault charges, the St. Mary Sheriff’s Office reported.

St. Mary
Sheriff Blaise Smith advised that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 32 complaints and made this arrest:
—Juvenile female, 15, Patterson, was arrested at 11:18 p.m. Tuesday on charges of disturbing the peace (language) and two counts of simple assault.
The girl was released into the custody of a guardian pending juvenile court proceedings.

Franklin
Police Chief Morris Beverly said the Franklin Police Department responded to seven complaints over the past 24 hours and made this arrest:
—Mark Griffin, 43, Armstrong Street, Lake Charles, was arrested at 5:11 p.m. Monday on charges of simple battery, simple criminal damage to property and simple escape.
Griffin was booked, processed and transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center.
Assumption
Sheriff Leland Falcon reported these arrests:
—Travis Darnell Lang, 34, Telegraph Street, Napoleonville, was arrested Monday on charges of domestic abuse battery, possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, obstruction of justice and resisting an officer.
The charges followed a domestic incident at a Martin Luther King Street address in Napoleonville on Monday.
Deputies were dispatched to a location in reference to a domestic disturbance. A uniformed patrol deputy arrived to interview the complainant.
At the same time, the suspect, now identified as Lang, was observed running out of the residence by a narcotics agent who happened to be in the area. That officer observed Lang toss an item under a building.
Lang was quickly apprehended, and deputies recovered a substantial quantity of controlled dangerous substances. Lang was arrested.
Meanwhile, the deputy investigating the domestic abuse incident observed injuries to the victim consistent with domestic abuse.
Lang was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center. Bond was set at $65,000.
— Marie Benoit, 27, Caldwell Plantation Road, Thibodaux, was arrested on charges of possession of methamphetamine; illegal use of controlled dangerous substances in the presence of persons under the age of 17 (two counts); sale, distribution, or possession of a legend drug without a prescription or order; possession of drug paraphernalia; and possession of marijuana (first offense).
The charges resulted from a traffic stop in Labadieville.
The deputy observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation and initiated a stop.
The deputy made contact with the occupants of the vehicle, including one adult passenger identified as Benoit. The deputy noted a strong odor of suspected marijuana emitting from the vehicle.
At the conclusion of the interviews, the deputy requested consent to search the vehicle which was granted. During the search, deputies located and seized marijuana, methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and the prescription drug Flexeril, not within the confines of a prescription bottle.
Also, there were two young children in the vehicle.
At the conclusion of the investigation, Benoit was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center and remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
— Danny Earl Bell, 40, Lakeshore Drive, Ethel, was arrested Sunday on charges of possession of methamphetamine and domestic abuse battery.
—Christine Michelle Bell, 48 Paul Street, Ethel, was arrested Sunday on a charge of possession of methamphetamine.
Deputies were dispatched to the 4808 block of La. 308 after dispatch was notified of a possible domestic incident involving a male and female. Deputies observed a vehicle matching the description provided to dispatch and were able to stop the vehicle.
At this time, deputies were able to identify a male subject as Danny Earl Bell and a female identified as Christine Michelle Bell.
Deputies conducted a pat down search for security reasons and seized a quantity of methamphetamine. Continued investigation resulted in the seizure of additional methamphetamine.
The investigating officers determined through investigation that the individuals were married but currently separated and had been involved in a physical confrontation. At the conclusion of the investigation, both Danny Earl Bell and Christine Michelle Bell were arrested.
Danny Earl Bell and Christine Michelle Bell remain incarcerated in the Assumption Parish Detention Center pending bond hearings.

St. Martin
Sheriff Becket Breaux reported these arrests:
—Marcus Sassau, 32, Justin Street, Lafayette, was arrested Tuesday on charges of possession with intent to distribute Schedule I drugs; armed robbery; manufacture, distribution, or possession with intent to district Schedule II drugs; distribution of drug paraphernalia; and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
—Jarrod Fontenot, 50, Baldwin Street, Breaux Bridge, was arrested Monday on charges of manufacture, distribution, or possession with intent to distribute Schedule II drugs and improper lane usage.
—Kerry Guidroz, 27, Bayou Alexander Road, St. Martinville, was arrested Monday on an extradition warrant.
—Theoderick Singleton, 43, Wilfred Champagne Road, St. Martinville, was arrested Monday on a charge of simple domestic abuse battery (strangulation).
—Domyrin Williams, 18, was arrested on an extradition warrant.
