Assumption authorites investigate assault with firearm cases

Five arrests by Assumption deputies in the last week include one arrest and one warrant alleging aggravated assault with a firearm.
Morgan City police also made two arrests that included charges of possession of fentanyl, which authorities say can be a potentially lethal additive to other drugs.
Assumption
Sheriff Leland Falcon reported these arrests:
--Jarvis J. Livingston, 41, Fremin Road, New Iberia, was arrested Saturday on two fugitive warrants alleging aggravated assault with a firearm, assault and second-degree battery.
The arrest followed a traffic stop Saturday on U.S. 90 in the Bayou L’Ourse area.
A uniformed patrol deputy assigned to the I.C.E. Detail observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation and conducted a stop of that vehicle. The deputy engaged the driver, Livingston, in an interview.
Deputies determined that Jarvis J. Livingston was wanted by the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office on multiple felony warrants and by Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office for an assault warrant.
Livingston was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center pending transfer to the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office.
--Crystal S. Thibodeaux, 38, Country Estates Drive, Houma, was arrested on charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and obstruction of justice.
A uniformed patrol deputy assigned to the I.C.E. Detail observed a westbound vehicle on U.S. 90 with a licensing violation and initiated a stop of that vehicle. The deputy engaged the driver in an interview.
The deputy then interviewed the passenger now identified as Thibodeaux. At the conclusion of that interview, the deputy believed additional investigation was warranted. The deputy requested and was granted consent to search the vehicle.
During that search, deputies seized quantities of suspected marijuana and methamphetamine which were attributed to Thibodeaux.
Deputies arrested Thibodeaux. While in route to the detention center, Thibodeaux attempted to dispose of additional methamphetamine, which was recovered and seized.
Thibodeaux was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center pending a bond hearing.
--Brice Adam Scully, 27, Cypress Street, Pierre Part, was arrested Thursday on charges of battery on a dating partner and simple cruelty to animals.
--Krista Chenelle Thompson, 33, La. 70, Pierre Part, was named in a warrant alleging aggravated assault with a firearm.
The charges arise from domestic incident at a residence in Belle River.
Deputies were dispatched to the area in response to a caller who indicated that Scully was threatening to hurt his domestic partner, now identified as Thompson, as well as her dog. Deputies then received information that Thompson had allegedly pointed a firearm at Scully.
At the conclusion of the investigation, Scully was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center pending a bond hearing.
Deputies secured a felony arrest warrant charging Thompson with aggravated assault with a firearm.
Deputies recovered a firearm believed related to this incident.
--Clement Fabre, 50, Murial Street, Bayou L’Ourse, was arrested Thursday on charges of battery on a police officer, resisting arrest with force or violence, simple assault and theft of electricity.
The charges arise from an incident in Bayou L’Ourse on Thursday evening.
Deputies were dispatched to the Murial Street area in reference to a caller who advised that Fabre was riding a bicycle in the area and yelling threats to people. Deputies with the I.C.E. Unit were informed that Fabre was in the area and armed with a machete.
At that time, deputies were attempting to serve Fabre with a protective order related to prior incidents.
Deputies eventually located Fabre. When deputies approached Fabre, he fled on foot. Deputies gave chase and were able to arrest him.
Deputies booked Fabre into the Assumption Parish Detention Center pending a bond hearing.
Morgan City
Chief Chad M. Adams reported these arrests:
--Colby Gros, 38, Pecan Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 10:31 p.m. Thursday on charges of failure to appear to pay fine (6th Ward Morgan City Court), headlights required, driving under suspension, possession of synthetic cannabinoids, possession of fentanyl, possession of methamphetamine and possession of marijuana (less than 14 grams).
--Fred Kenner, 39, Grace Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 11:21 p.m. Thursday on charges of possession of synthetic cannabinoids and possession of fentanyl.
--Napolian Webb Sr., 41, Kentucky Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 12:51 p.m. Friday on a charge of battery of a dating partner.
--Tyrik Singleton, 28, Mike Drive, Patterson, was arrested at 6:35 p.m. Friday on a charge of possession with intent to distribute marijuana, driving under suspension and failure to signal.
--Dylan Robinson, 27, Chennault Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 7:26 a.m. Friday on two counts of failure to appear for trial (6th Ward Morgan City Court).
--Jaiveianna Jones, 29, Wren Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 4:12 a.m. Saturday on charges of resisting an officer, failure to signal, stop sign violation and no driver’s license.
--John Nash, 33, Eisenhower Street, Franklin, was arrested at 3:05 a.m. Sunday on charges of violation of a protective order, criminal damage to property ($1,000-$5,000) and criminal trespassing.
--Mike Patel, 31, Brashear Avenue, Morgan City, was arrested at 2:50 p.m. Thursday on a charge of contempt of court (6th Ward Morgan City Court).
--Tom Nguyen, 69, Lake Palourde Road, Morgan City, was arrested at 3:16 p.m. Thursday on a charge of contempt of court (6th Ward Morgan City Court).
--Timothy Adams, 36, Roselawn Drive, Morgan City, was arrested at 7:10 p.m. Thursday on a charge of failure to appear to pay fine (6th Ward Morgan City Court).
--Jeffery Reiger, 59, Glenwood Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 8:40 p.m. Thursday on charges of failure to appear to pay fine (6th Ward Morgan City Court).
St. Mary
Sheriff Gary Driskell reported these arrests:
--Jeralyn Jurrell Carson, 33, Baldwin, was arrested at 9:43 p.m. Friday on a failure to appear warrant on charges of speeding and operating a vehicle without a driver's license. Bail has not been set at this time.
--Kaleb Robert Gros, 29, Bayou Vista, was arrested at 11:58 p.m. Saturday on a warrant alleging failure to appear on charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of synthetic cannabinoids. Bail was set at $15,000.
--Thomas Mitchell Barfield Jr., 47, Panama City, Florida, was arrested at 4:35 p.m. Sunday on charges of possession of methamphetamines, possession of drug paraphernalia and simple obstruction of highway. Bail has not been set at this time.
--Jessica Nykell Davis, 40, Patterson, was arrested at 8:26 p.m. Sunday on a warrant alleging failure to appear on charges of failure to yield to emergency vehicle and failure to change address. Bail has not been set at this time.
--Francisco Cazares, 56, Patterson, was arrested at 9:26 p.m. Thursday on a failure to appear warrant on charges of improper motorboat identification numbers, failure to comply with PFD requirements and failure to change ownership on registration of a vessel. Bail was set at $4,000.
--Chester Anthony Simpson Jr., 44, Thibodaux, was arrested at 6:02 p.m. July 22 on a charge of violation of protective orders. Bail was set at $2,500.
--Danielle Babin Simpson, 45, Arnaudville, was arrested at 6:02 p.m. July 22 on a charge of violation of protective orders. Bail has not been set at this time.
--Kimla Fontenot Smith, 63, Centerville, was arrested at 11:13 a.m. July 22 on a charge of failure to appear. Smith was released on a judicial release.
Patterson
Chief Garrett Grogan reported this arrest:
--Priscilla Y. Dials, 34, Federal Avenue, Morgan City, was arrested at 4:10 p.m. Sunday on a charge of simple assault. Dials was released on a summons.
Franklin
Chief Cedric Handy reported these arrests:
--Kearny McDaniel, 36, West Ibert Street, Franklin, was arrested at 12:36 a.m. Thursday on a warrant for 3rd Ward City Court alleging failure to appear on charges of general speed law, driver must be licensed, stop signs (without accident) and two counts of stop signs (with accident).
McDaniel was booked, processed and held on a $633 bond.
--Chad Mendoza, 51, Main Street, Franklin, was arrested at 7:43 p.m. Saturday on charges of operating a vehicle while license is suspended and possession of Schedule IV drugs. Mendoza was booked, processed and held on a $6,000 bond.
--Patrick Lumpkin, 44, Curtis Drive, Franklin, was arrested at 11:38 p.m. Sunday on charges of off-road vehicles, resisting an officer, reckless operation of a vehicle and flight from an officer. Lumpkin was additionally arrested on a warrant dated July 10 alleging three counts of theft and on a warrant for the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office alleging resisting an officer. Lumpkin was booked, processed and held on an $11,000 bond.
--John Garcia, 36, Franklin, was arrested at 1:27 a.m. Sunday on a charge of resisting an officer. Garcia was booked, processed and held on a $2,500 bond.
--Juvenile was arrested at 7:58 p.m. Sunday on charges of resisting an officer and disturbing the peace (language).
--Kendell Johnson, 22, Seventh Street, Franklin, while incarcerated at the Franklin Police Department, was arrested at 1:56 a.m. Monday on a charge of simple battery. Johnson was booked, processed and held on a $1,000 bond. Johnson had been arrested at 7:50 p.m. Thursday on
two counts of domestic abuse battery. He was held on a $5,000 bond.
