Deputies make steroid possession arrest
The St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division arrested a Larose man in possession of three different types of steroids, St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith said in a news release.
—Douglas J. Chaisson Jr., 42, of West 35th Street in Larose, was arrested at 1:21 p.m. on charges of possession of a Schedule III controlled dangerous substance (steroid nandrolone phenyl propionate), possession of a Schedule III controlled dangerous substance (steroid testosterone plus), possession of a Schedule III controlled dangerous substance (steroid testosterone pill) and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was jailed and released on a $6,500 bond.
Smith also advised that the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to 28 complaints and the following arrests were made:
—Derick Damond Jackson, 33, of La. 318 in Jeanerette, was arrested at 2:13 p.m. Wednesday on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of possession of a Schedule II controlled dangerous substance (cocaine), possession of a Schedule II controlled dangerous substance (methamphetamine), possession of a Schedule I controlled dangerous substance (heroin) and resisting an officer. He was jailed and later released on a $5,000 bond.
—Cody Paul Trosclair, 28, of Boudreaux Lane in Baldwin, was arrested at 11:29 p.m. Wednesday on a charge of battery of a correctional officer. He was jailed with no bail set.
Morgan City Police Chief James F. Blair reported that the Morgan City Police Department responded to 39 calls of service and the following arrests were made:
—Debra Belanger Mills, 49, of Hebert Lane in Morgan City, was arrested at 1:45 p.m. Wednesday on a warrant for two counts of failure to appear. Mills turned herself into the Morgan City Police Department on active warrants held by the City Court of Morgan City. She was jailed.
—Josh Frank, 29, of Mustang Hill in Katie, Texas, was arrested at 11:39 p.m. on a warrant for a charge of theft of materials. Officers came into contact with Frank at a local hotel on Martin Luther King Boulevard. A warrant check revealed Frank was a wanted person from Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office in Texas for theft of materials. He was jailed.
Franklin Police Chief Morris Beverly reported that the Franklin Police Department responded to 15 complaints and the following arrest was made:
—Traci Burke, 33, of Lee Charles Street in Franklin, was arrested at 2:44 p.m. Wednesday on a charge of extortion and telephone harassment. She was jailed and later released on a $2,500 bond.
Berwick Police Chief David Leonard Sr. reported no arrests.
Patterson Police Chief Garrett Grogan reported no arrests.
