Anna Saleme’s home at 313 Wise St. in Morgan City is one of seven local homes in the Spirit of Homes Tour from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday presented as a fundraiser by St. Mary Outreach in Morgan City. Saleme’s home was built circa 1920 by the Bass family of Morgan City. This solid cypress, Louisiana shotgun-style house is one of three identical houses, all in a row originally built the Bass’ for their two daughters, Dorothy and Freida Bass. Unique features include a 40-foot long hallway running almost the entire length of the house, 12-foot ceilings, original oak wood floors, a gas fireplace in the living room and rustic-style door and window casings and baseboards.
