Cameryn Milan Yarber of Verdunville, daughter of the late Tyra T. Yarber and Germaine Bogan-Yarber, will graduate with a Bachelor of Arts degree in mass-communications-broadcasting from UL-Lafayette on Friday, May 17. Through her time at UL-Lafayette, she became a member of the Black Women Leadership Association where she was a member of the executive board. Cameryn was also on the Student Orientation Staff for two years, which allowed her to become a part of the inaugural Parent Orientation Leader Staff. She was a Freshman Peer Mentor for three years, which led to her position as the peer mentor’s administrative coordinator. Cameryn recently received the Exceptional Service Award from the Dean of Community Service. She was also a student broadcast journalist for Acadiana News 1 this past spring while completing her senior year. Cameryn plans to begin searching for an entry level position as a broadcast journalist.
