Marshall presents program on roses at club meeting

Patterson Garden Club held its Feb. 21 meeting at the home of Iris Roy. Co-hostess with Roy was Ginger Griffin.
Member Sandra Marshall presented the program, “Care of Roses.” She discussed various types of roses available, proper planting, and pruning.
During the business portion of the meeting, members learned that both the Blue Star Marker and Byway Marker will be refurbished. An Arbor Day marker will be replaced at Patterson City Hall with a stone marker honoring former Mayor Jimmy Bernauer.
It was announced that the Patterson Garden Club Scholarship applications are available at Patterson High with an application deadline of April 10.
The club decided to make a donation to special education teacher Evelyn Ortiz for gardening soil and supplies for her classes in Patterson.
The next club meeting will be March 21. New members are welcome.
