This is her thank you letter to her sponsors that explains how much participating in pageants has helped her to become a better person.

To National American Miss Sponsor,
Since I was a young girl, I dreamt of being a princess. I would play dress up constantly and walk around my house with plastic heels and tiaras on. Although, I noticed an issue as I got older. I couldn’t force myself to speak in front of new people even if it was a simple hello. My family could not understand why I was so shy because they knew I loved performing and being on stage. Years had passed before I found out about the National American Miss pageant. I had competed in local pageants before, but nothing quite like NAM. In 2015, my only goal was to compete at the Louisiana state pageant. I went into pageant weekend with little knowledge from friends and no expectations. To my surprise, I walked away with a Top Ten rose but most importantly lots of memories and new friends. Since then, I’ve noticed a good change in myself. I am now the first to volunteer to speak in social settings and confident when it comes to meeting new people.
National American Miss has been in the back of my mind since 2015. I knew I wanted to compete again because of the fun experience I previously had, but always ran into time or financial conflicts. I knew that if I wanted to compete again, I would need a lot of help and to work hard. Which brings me to you! YOU are the reason I can have that magical weekend again. YOU are the reason I have so much confidence today. YOU are the reason I was able to represent the small town of Morgan City on the Louisiana stage. I cannot thank YOU enough. Thank you for loving me and supporting my dreams. Whether it was buying from the millions of cupcakes I made over the last two months or making donations out of generosity, I appreciate you!
Thank You,
Brenna Laubach
