JA of East St. Mary Parish celebrates 25 years
The East St. Mary Parish Chapter of Junior Auxiliary celebrated 25 years of serving the community on April 19 at Bay City Bistro in Morgan City. Members, present and past, gathered for the occasion. There have been more than 150 women who have served in the organization, as well as countless projects that benefitted the community.
At the celebration, the provisional class was presented as active members. Bonnie Blanchard, Angela Brinkley, Amy Clemons, Stacey Domangue, Anna Keathley, Jessica Martin, Lani McElroy, Lindsey Nolting and Selena Shannon have completed their provisional duties to become active members.
This celebration marked the end of the 2017-18 year.
Danielle Grow received the Finance Chair award. Alita Boudreaux and Ambre Wilson were awarded Most Service Hours. Attendance awards for making every meeting went to Nicole Cline, Amy Isham, Jessica Martin, Lani McElroy and Ambre Wilson. Provisional Member of the Year, voted on by the chapter, was awarded to Anna Keathley. Member of the Year, voted on by the chapter as well, was awarded to Nicole Cline.
The 2018-19 executive officers were installed at the celebration. They are Darby Ratcliff, president; Sarah Mayon, vice president; Jamie Keith, recording secretary; Ambre Wilson, treasurer; and Sheli McGonagill and Lani McElroy, membership and corresponding secretary co-chairwomen.
The East St. Mary Parish chapter was chartered by a group of women in 1993 and continues to grow and thrive throughout east St. Mary. Volunteers work throughout the year on a variety of projects that focus on local children and families in need of assistance.
