Girl Scout alumnae invited for camping weekend

BATON ROUGE — The airy night sky surrounding a camp fire and the taste of burnt white fluffy delicacies is only half of what alumnae can expect at the Forever Girl Scouts — Adult Camping Weekend set Oct. 20-22 at Camp Marydale in St. Francisville and Camp Whispering Pines in Independence.
This year, alumnae will bring their photos and Girl Scout stories to share, decorate “Name Tags,” and participate in a variety of “get to know you” activities. There will also be a group photo taken with the “Forever a Girl Scout” T-shirt. Fee for joining Forever Girl Scouts is $100 and includes T-shirt, discounted pricing, GSUSA membership, and more.
The camping weekend, being held at both camps simultaneously, is open to all alumnae across the world, and they can choose to stay all weekend or Saturday only. Weekend stays include three meals and one cook-out meal for $56, or $28 for Forever Girl Scout members. The cost to participate on Saturday, only, is $36 and $18 for members. This fee includes one dining meal and one cookout meal.
There is also a special package price for alum who plan to attend the council’s big event on Saturday, October 21. The cost to participate Friday evening to Saturday morning or Saturday evening to Sunday morning is $20 and $10 for members. Registration deadline is Oct. 6.
Girl Scout Camp Whispering Pines is located at 56535 Highway 1054 in Independence and Girl Scout Camp Marydale is located at 10317 Marydale Rd., in St. Francisville.
