Children with cancer can do free Camp In summer camp

Camp Quality USA, an organization that serves children with cancer and blood disorders has made the difficult decision to cancel its traditional summer camp programs. The health and safety of campers and volunteers is its top priority and the risk of COVID-19 exposure has resulted in a camp change.
As an alternative, Camp Quality is offering a Camp In program this year where children can participate from home.
Each child will receive a backpack filled with daily activity cards and associated materials, including art and nature exploration supplies, a camp T-shirt and a journal. Additionally, the staff will provide online experiences, with live streams and recorded sessions during the week of camp July 13-17.
The virtual camp experience will follow this year’s theme “Outrageous Courageous” and incorporate many of our camp traditions, such as flag-raising, talent shows and campfires.
The Camp In program provides an opportunity for campers to come together as a community to share hope and laughter during these uncertain times. As with all Camp Quality programs, Camp In is offered at no cost to families.
If you or someone you know has a child with cancer or a blood disorder, direct them to the website www.campqualityusa.org/la to register for the Camp In program.
