MCHS, Patterson and Berwick all will play in jamboree

Morgan City High and Patterson High Schools will meet in the feature game of the Taco Bell Jamboree Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Tiger Stadium in Morgan City.
Veteran Patterson Coach Don Jones just wants to get a little work in for his squad and come out injury free.
“I just want to hurry up and get it over with, everybody knows I’m not a scrimmage guy,” Jones said. “It’s good to get something on tape for us to see where we are. And it’s good for the fans, to get a little football in the air, a good dress rehearsal, for the real Friday night lights . But any major injury, can really hurt your season.”
The Morgan City-Patterson games starts at approximately 7:30 p.m., after the 6 p.m. opener featuring Berwick against White Castle.
The Lumberjacks open the regular season Aug. 31, at Franklin.
MCHS Coach Chris Stroud was not available for comment.
Berwick knows what White Castle brings into tonight’s game.
“We are excited about playing tonight,” Berwick Coach Mike Walker said. “We know White Castle is athletic and well coached, so it will be a good test for our team.”
The first-year wants to see his hard working team perform.
“We have a good group of seniors that have been working really hard to prepare for tonight, and I’m excited to watch our team compete, the first-year coach said.”
Local rivals, Morgan City and Berwick clash Aug. 31, at Geisler Stadium in Berwick in the season opener for both teams.
