Hanson Lady Tigers sweep past Lady Blue Gators

BROUSSARD _ Hanson Memorial’s Lady Tigers swept past the Ascension Episcopal School Lady Blue Gators here Thursday by scores of 15-0 and 22-4 in District 7-1A at the AES Softball Field.
HANSON 15, AES 0
In the opener, the Hanson Memorial Lady Tigers’ bats came alive with a 14-hit attack which ignited the 15-0 District 7-1A victory.
Lunden Verdin led the Lady Tigers with a 3 for 3 day with a pair of doubles and 4 RBI.
Hanson scored 15 runs on 14 hits with two errors in Game 1.
The Lady Tigers blew open a 4-0 lead with 10 runs in the second frame on the way to the 15-0 victory.
Baylee Young (5-2) earned the shutout victory. She tossed a one-hitter while working three frames, allowing no runs with one strikeout and one walk over three frames.
Leading hitters for Hanson were: Casey Fitzgerald, 2 for 3, double, 2 RBI, 2 runs; Allyssa Young, 1 for 2, double, 2 runs; Lunden Verdin, 3 for 3, 2 doubles, 4 RBI; Noel Baker, 1 for 3, run, RBI; Kaylee Broussard, 3 for 3, 3 runs, double; Baylee Young, 1 for 2, 2 runs, double; Ashlee Meyerholtz, 1 for 2, run, double, RBI; Maegan LeBlanc, 1 for 2, run, RBI and Camille Baker, 1 for 3, run, 2 RBI.

Lunden Verdin finished off a perfect day at plate by going 7 for 7 in two games while Kaylee Broussard hit for the cycle while batting 4 for 4 to lead the Hanson Memorial Lady Tigers to a 22-3 District 7-1A victory over the AES Lady Blue Gators Thursday in Game 2.
The Hanson Lady Tigers collected 22 runs on 23 hits with no errors in the huge victory over AES in Game 2.
Hanson padded its 9-2 lead with 13 runs in the top half of the third inning to ice away the 22-3 victory.
Kaylee Broussard pitched and hit the Lady Tigers to the victory over AES in Game 2.
Broussard went 4 for 4 while also earning the victory in the circle.
Verdin led the hit parade, going 3 for 3 to polish off a sparkling 7 for 7 performance on the day.
Broussard _ who helped her own cause as the winning pitcher _ went 4 for 4 while hitting for the cycle with a homer, triple, double, and single with 5 RBI and four runs.
Broussard stroked an RBI-double in the first frame, an RBI-triple in the second, a 3-run homer in the third and a single in the fourth frame while going 4 for 4 with 5 RBI and four runs on the day.
Broussard earned the win in the circle for the Hanson Lady Tigers after working three complete innings, allowing three runs on three hits with five strikeouts and four walks.

Hanson (8-6, 7-1) will travel to play in the Catholic High of New Iberia Tournament over the weekend.
