FRANKLIN’S ROY JACKSON earned a second place finish (43-07) in the annual Foster/Perry Relays held Friday at J. C. Dry Stadium. Jackson won the discus with a throw of 140-03. The Franklin Hornets won the boys division of the 2017 Foster/Perry with 130 points while the Westgate Lady Tigers won the girls division with 111 points.
Franklin Hornets post 16-6 win on Wolfpack
Lamar Joseph hurled the Franklin Hornets to a 16-6 win over the West St. Mary Wolfpack Thursday at the Franklin High School Baseball Field.
Joseph (1-0) worked three innings, allowing five runs (no earned runs) on four hits with five strikeouts and two walks.
Ruston Bertrand worked two innings in relief, giving up no runs, no hits with five strikeouts.
Leading hitters for Franklin were: Lamar Joseph, 3 for 4, 2 runs, triple, hit, RBI; Jardyn McCoy, 3 for 4, 2 hits, 2 RBI; Hunter Seneca, 2 for 4, 2 hits, 4 runs, 3 RBI; J’Trell Connor, 3 runs; Jamal Connor, 2 for 2, 2 hits, 3 runs; Ruston Bertrand, 2 for 4, 2 RBI and Brent Ina, 3 runs.
Franklin (6-4) will play host to West St. Mary today at 5:30 p.m.
