CCHS' Swan earns honorable mention LSWA 1A All-State recognition
Central Catholic had one representative of its boy’s basketball squad earn Louisiana Sports Writers Association Honorable Mention Class 1A All-State recognition.
Central Catholic junior Elijah Swan earned the honor.
“He was our best offensive player. … He was just our most consistent scorer throughout the year,” Central Catholic coach Ree Case said of Swan.
No individual statistics were available for Swan.
Central Catholic finished its season with a 16-15 record, falling to eventual Division IV state champion and District 7-1A foe Lafayette Christian in the Division IV quarterfinals.
Lafayette Christian’s Greg Williams Jr. was named first-team Class 1A All-State and the state’s Most Valuable Player, while White Castle’s Troy Green is the state Coach of the Year.
District 7-1A, which Central Catholic competes in, had one other honorable mention selection besides Swan, Kailen Thibodeaux of Lafayette Christian.
