CC-MC claims victory over HMS

Central Catholic of Morgan City claimed a 9-3 District 7-1A win over the Hanson Memorial Tigers Saturday at the Amar Lancon Field.
CCHS collected nine runs on 11 hits while Hanson Memorial scored three runs on six hits.
Leading hitters for Hanson were: Luke Lancon, 1 for 4; Noah Judice, 1 for 3; Brock Broussard, 1 for 3; Jack Vaccarella, 1 for 3 and Chase Mensman, 1 for 3.
Mitchel Lemoine went 2 for 4 with a homer to lead CCHS in the box.
Central’s Gregory Leger outdueled Hanson’s Spencer Bishop for the mound victory.
Leger worked seven complete innings, allowing three runs on six hits with nine strikeout and 2 walks while facing 29 batters and throwing a total of 107 pitches with 68 strikes and 39 balls.
Bishop faced 37 batters for a total of 129 pitches with 79 strikes and 45 balls over seven complete innings. He gave up nine runs (7 earned) on 11 hits with seven strikeouts and one walk.

Skylar Fitch tossed a two-hit shutout over five innings to lead the Hanson Memorial Tigers to a 10-0 triumph over the Lafayette Christian Academy Knights Thursday in District 7-1A action at the Amar Lancon Field.
Fitch earned the victory after pitching five scoreless innings, allowing only two hits while striking out four and walking one batter. He threw a total of 69 pitches with 25 balls and 44 strikes while facing 16 batters.
Hayden Guinn took the loss for LCA after going two frames, giving up four runs (four earned) on three hits with two walks. He faced 12 batters while tallying 28 pitches with 15 balls and 13 strikes over two innings.
