BATON ROUGE — Employment in Louisiana’s oil and gas industry has been declining since 2014 and took another big hit during the COVID-19 pandemic, with layoffs of 7,500 more workers.
It’s likely that no gesture of appreciation could ever be enough to express just how much the world has valued and come to rely on the efforts of nurses over the last year-plus.
A public health special event will be open this week at the Bayou L’ourse Community Center on Saturday.
Anyone age 18 and older can get a free COVID-19 vaccination.
