Police: Man threatened victim with knife

A 35-year-old New Iberia man was charged with aggravated assault after threatening someone with a knife during an argument in Morgan City, Police Chief James Blair said in a news release.
—Donavan J. Francisco, 35, of Robertson Street in New Iberia, arrested at 12:07 p.m. Thursday on the charge of aggravated assault.
Officers responded to an alleged assault complaint at a home on Wren Street. During the investigation, officers found evidence that Francisco committed an assault on the victim with a knife during a verbal altercation. Francisco was jailed.
Blair reported the following arrests:
—Tameka Douglas, 36, of Wren Street in Morgan City, arrested at 12:06 p.m. Thursday on a warrant for failure to appear for trial on the charge of open container.
Douglas was located by officers on Wren Street and arrested on a 16th Judicial District Court warrant. Douglas was jailed.
—Purcell A. Gros, 43, of Sixth Street in Morgan City, arrested at 3:45 p.m. Thursday on a warrant charging him with possession of Meloxicam.
Gros was arrested in city court on warrants. The warrants stem from a Jan. 14, 2016, investigation where he was found to be in possession of suspected Meloxicam which is a prescription drug that Gros did not have a valid prescription for according to reports.
The suspected Meloxicam was seized pending chemical analysis. During further investigation an arrest warrant was prepared for Gros’ arrest. Gros was jailed.
—Kevin J. Thomas, 46, of Morey Street in Patterson, arrested at 6:30 p.m. Thursday on the charges of stopping, standing or parking prohibited, and driving under suspension.
Officers were dispatched to a down town location in the area of Everett Street in reference to a prohibited parking complaint. Police arrived to the area and located a vehicle and a trailer blocking a driveway. The driver of the vehicle was located and identified as Thomas. According to reports during the investigation it was learned that Thomas Louisiana license was under suspension. Thomas was jailed.
—Linda Durkins, 46, of South East Boulevard in Morgan City, arrested at 9:45 p.m. Thursday on a warrant for failure to appear for court. Durkins was located at the police department and arrested on a 16th Judicial District Court warrant. Durkins was jailed.
—Patrick Leblanc II, 27, of First Street in Morgan City, arrested at 10:13 p.m. Thursday on two counts of theft by shoplifting.
Officers responded to a business in reference to a suspected shoplifter. Officers arrived to the area and spoke with management who identified Leblanc had went into the business and was observed removing merchandise from the packaging.
When confronted by employees Leblanc fled the area. Leblanc was also seen taking items from the business on a prior date. Officers located Leblanc a short time later. He allegedly admitted to the theft on the prior date. Leblanc was jailed.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported responding to 38 complaints in the parish and reported the following arrests in east St. Mary Parish:
—Michael A. Dean, 29, of Alta Road in Iowa, was arrested at 11:20 a.m. Thursday on the charges of driving with a suspended license and speeding.
A deputy monitoring traffic on U.S. 90 in Berwick observed a vehicle traveling 66 miles per hour in a posted 45 mph construction zone. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and found that the driver, Dean, was operating the vehicle without a license. Dean was released on a summons to appear in court June 13.
—Beau Boudreaux, 38, of Willow Wood Drive in New Iberia, was arrested at 7:25 p.m. Thursday on a warrant charging him with nonconsensual disclosure of a private image and on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of criminal neglect of family.
Deputies received information about a subject who was wanted on a warrant and went to a business on U.S. 90 in Bayou Vista. Deputies encountered Boudreaux while searching for the other subject and located the active warrants for his arrest.
The warrant for nonconsensual disclosure of a private image stems from an investigation into a complaint received in August 2016. A deputy collected evidence that Boudreaux posted nude photos of a female victim online. Boudreaux was jailed with no bail set.
—Nathan A. Kaufman, 18, of South Houston Street in Aransas Pass, Texas, was arrested at 5:18 a.m. Friday on the charges of two counts of contributing to the delinquency of juveniles, stop sign violation, speeding and no driver’s license.
—De’antre D. Thomas, 18, of South Church Street in Rock Port, Texas, was arrested at 5:18 a.m. Friday on the charge of contributing to the delinquency of juveniles.
—A female juvenile, 15, of Corpus Christi, Texas, was arrested at 5:34 a.m. Friday on the charges of runaway juvenile and curfew violation.
—A female juvenile, 15, of Ingleside, Texas, was arrested at 5:34 a.m. Friday on the charge of curfew violation.
In Bayou Vista, a deputy observed a car traveling at a high rate of speed on Saturn Road. The deputy then observed the driver fail to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Saturn Road and Southeast Boulevard. The deputy stopped the vehicle and spoke with the driver who was identified as Kaufman.
The deputy found that Kaufman was operating the vehicle without a driver’s license. The deputy also made contact with three passengers; one male subject and two young female subjects. The females appeared to be juveniles.
Additional deputies arrived to assist in the investigation. The male passenger was identified as Thomas. The two female passengers were identified as 15-year-old juveniles.
Deputies found that the girls traveled with Kaufman and Thomas from Texas and that one of the juveniles was listed as a runaway through the Corpus Christi Police Department.
Kaufman and Thomas were jailed with no bail set. Deputies contacted the juveniles’ parents and are working to return them to their guardians.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported the following arrest:
—Michelle Chapman, 31, of Blum Boulevard in Berwick, was arrested at 2:22 p.m. Thursday on the charges of disturbing the peace intoxicated and possession of marijuana second offense. No bail is set yet.
Franklin Police Chief Sabria McGuire reported the following arrest relating to east St. Mary Parish:
—Melvin Sylvester Jr., 38, of Short Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 10:12 a.m. Thursday on a warrant charging him with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. The Oct. 30, 2016, warrant alleges that Sylvester took the victim’s vehicle without permission. Sylvester was booked into jail and released on $2,000 bail.
