When lawmakers debate taxes and spending during the next session another budget issue should be added to the mix.
BATON ROUGE — More than a year ago, Gov.
Democratic Gov. John Bel Edwards is calling it Louisiana’s “fiscal cliff,” and it was to be the prime topic of conversations this week when he met with Republican House Speaker Taylor Barras.
John Baptiste Fournet is best remembered as the longest-serving justice of the Louisiana Supreme Court. He was on the bench from Jan. 2, 1935, to July 31, 1970. That’s 35 years and 211 days.
