The Morgan City 10-year-old All-Stars finished their season as Louisiana Dixie Youth AAA State Runners-up. Morgan City fell to Ruston this weekend in two games in the best-of-three series at the Louisiana Dixie Youth AAA State Championship Series at Johnny Downs Sports Complex in Alexandria. Morgan City fell in game 1 16-5 in five innings and 10-6 in game 2. Despite the tough ending, it's the first state runner-up for a 10-year-old Morgan City team in 17 years. The Morgan City 10-year-old All-Stars will play for a state championship and a berth in the 2018 Dixie Youth AAA World Series in Lumberton, North Carolina, this weekend when it faces Ruston in a best-of-three series in Alexandria. Game 1 is set for a 5:30 p.m. start Friday, while game 2 will be played Saturday at 10 a.m. If a third game is necessary, it will be played Saturday at 5 p.m. Morgan City team members are, kneeling from left, Bryan Cordero, Noah Guarisco, Lucas Pickens, Landyn Ramagos, Conner Daigle and Franco Saleme.
