City, parish authorities make four meth arrests

Morgan City police and St. Mary deputies made four arrests on methamphetamine charges over the long holiday weekend.
The two agencies also made five arrests on hit-and-run charges.

Morgan City
Police Chief James F. Blair reported that over the last 120-hour holiday reporting period, the Morgan City Police Department responded to 143 calls for service and made these arrests:
--Paul M. Daigle, 43, Park Road, Morgan City, was arrested at 12:03 a.m. Friday on charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while intoxicated (first offense), driving under suspension, hit-and-run driving, and reckless operation of a motor vehicle; on a 6th Ward Morgan City Court warrant alleging failure to appear to pay fine (four counts); and on a St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office warrant alleging theft.
--Traci Fitch Whitehurst, 39, Sixth Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 12:37 p.m. Friday on a charge of possession of methamphetamine.
—Brian Eric Dixon, 33, Everett Street, Morgan City, was arrest at 4:51 p.m. Friday 𝐄on charges of possession of marijuana and unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling.
--Patrick Anthony Wright, 62, Levee Road, Morgan City, was arrested at 8:52 p.m. Friday on charges of driving while intoxicated (first offense), failure to obey traffic signals, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, failure to obey traffic signals, possession of marijuana, registration required and no insurance.
--Clarence T. Sheets Jr., 50, Songe Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 3:26 p.m. Saturday on a charge of battery of a dating partner.
--Carla Lee Ann Stafford, 34, Shannon Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 6:27 p.m. Saturday on warrants alleging aggravated arson and attempted aggravated arson; on a 16th Judicial District Court warrant alleging failure to appear for trial; and on charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.
--Darrell Dunmiles, 35, Maw Maw Court, Chauvin, was arrested at 8:08 p.m. Saturday on a charge of possession of cocaine.
--Darla Rose Percle, 33, Carmen Street, Patterson, was arrested at 5:30 p.m. Sunday on charges of possession of alprazolam and driving under suspension, and on a 16th Judicial Court warrant alleging failure to appear for trial.
--Edin Flores-Cruz, 27, Victor II Boulevard, Morgan City, was arrested at 11:55 p.m. Sunday on charges of driving while intoxicated (first offense), reckless operation of a motor vehicle and no driver’s license.

St. Mary
Sheriff Blaise Smith advised that over the last 120-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 147 complaints and made these arrests:
—Joemy Rodriguez, 26, Patterson, was arrested at 2:53 p.m. Nov. 24 on a warrant alleging failure to appear on the charges of speeding and failure to honor a written promise to appear. Rodriguez was released on a $365 bond.
—Dominique Navy, 26, Franklin, was arrested at 10:23 p.m. Thursday on charges of no license plate light, driver must be licensed and possession of marijuana. Navy was released on a summons to appear Feb. 3.
—Byron Duan Paul, 35, Jeanerette, was arrested at 11:49 p.m. Thursday on charges of stop signs/yield signs, no insurance, and switched license plate/stolen license plate. Paul also held an active warrant through the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office. Paul is being held for another agency.
—Andrew William Francis, 24, New Iberia, was arrested at 2:58 a.m. Thursday on charges of illegal use of weapons or dangerous instruments and possession of a firearm by a felon. Francis was also named in an Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office warrant for failure to appear on charges of attempted armed robbery, armed robbery, possession of a firearm or carrying a concealed weapon by a convicted felon, and possession of a stolen firearm.
Bail was set on the St. Mary charges at $50,000. A hold was placed on Francis for another agency.
—Joseph Hamilton Jr., 55, Franklin, was arrested at 8:47 p.m. Friday on charges of careless operation, driver must be licensed, and hit and run. Hamilton was released on a summons to appear Feb. 3.
—Tamronique K. Provost, 27, Baldwin, was arrested at 9:38 p.m. Friday on charges of no child restraint and hit and run. Provost was released on a summons to appear at Feb. 3.
—Kylie Schexinider, 18, Amelia, was arrested at 10:50 p.m. Thursday on a charge of possession of marijuana. Schexinider was released on a summons to appear Feb. 3.
—William Nelson Broussard, 34, Morgan City, was arrested at 2:17 a.m. Friday on charges of driving on roadway laned for traffic, no insurance and driving under suspension. Broussard was released on a summons to appear Feb. 3.
—David Allen Ackman, 41, Morgan City, was arrested at 9:01 a.m. Friday on charges of disturbing the peace (intoxicated) and possession of Schedule II drugs. Ackman was also named in a Morgan City Police Department warrant alleging failure to appear. Bail was set on the SMPSO charges at $2,500.
—Lorrie Jean Verret, 41, New Iberia, was arrested at 6:14 p.m. Friday on a warrant alleging failure to appear on charges of possession of methamphetamine; possession, distribution or sale of a legend drug without a prescription; illegal use, possession or distribution of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of persons under 17; possession of drug paraphernalia; and improper lane usage.
Bail has not been set.
—Kevin Leon Hannigan, 18, Morgan City, was arrested at 10:56 p.m. on a charge of hit and run. Hannigan was released on a summons to appear Feb. 3.
Franklin
Police Chief Morris Beverly reported that the Police Department responded to 28 complaints over the past holiday weekend and made these arrests:
—Antonio Campbell, 30, Augustine Maze Road, Franklin, was arrested at 12:19 p.m. Nov. 24 on a warrant dated May 24, 2017, alleging disturbing the peace (fighting) and a warrant for 16th Judicial District Court alleging failure to appear on the charge of possession of marijuana. Campbell was booked, processed and released on a $1,000 bond.
—Gerald Dupas, 37, Iberia Street, Franklin, was arrested at 8:27 p.m. Saturday on a charge of battery on a dating partner with strangulation. Dupas was booked, processed and transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center.
