The bride is the daughter of Judith C. Blood of Morgan City and Mr. and Mrs. Charles W. Blood of Pineville. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd N. Johns Jr. of Slidell.
Music was by Lee LeBlanc, organist; Michael Swiber, trumpeter and Jennifer S. Bradford, vocalist.
The church was decorated with pew bows of hand-tied tulle with green hydrangeas. Three, ivory floral arrangements of roses, snapdragons, lilac and hyacinth also decorated the church.
Readers included Rosie M. Fournier, Mary Sue Shalberg, aunt of the bride and Debbie Modlin, godmother of the groom.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a light gold satin gown designed in a fit-and-flare style. The gown featured a lace-up back with asymmetrical pleating on the bodice, French ruching pick-ups on the skirt, and a semi-cathedral-length train. Completing the ensemble was a beaded, rhinestone sash and an ivory cathedral length veil.
She carried a clutch bouquet of Keira English garden roses, Anna roses, and ivory freesia. Fabric from the wedding dress of the bride’s mother was used as stem wraps. Adorning the bouquet was an antique brass locket with pictures of the bride’s deceased grandparents.
Lauren Blood Michel, sister of the bride, served as the matron of honor. Kristin Claire Comeaux was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Torin K. Shalberg, cousin of the bride; Christiana M. Johns, sister of the groom; Lori Jo Case and Jennifer S. Bradford.
Bridal attendants wore eggplant gowns of floor-length chiffon featuring an empire waist, sweetheart neckline and asymmetrical pleating on the bodice.
They each carried a hand-tied bouquet of soft pink and purple hydrangeas, green ranunculus and pink roses.
Flower girl Ava Grace Michel, goddaughter of the bride, wore a floor-length dress of organza with a tulle overlay on the skirt. The dress was completed with an eggplant organza sash.
She carried an ivory satin basket with ivory and purple flowers.
John Robert Thomas “Jack” Osborne served as ringbearer.
Nicholas Maurice Soileau served as the best man. Groomsmen were Andrew M. Street, Jeff M. McWhirter, Carl A. Bayhi, Brant S. Trahan and Ryan J. Schenk.
Ushers were Jeremy C. Blood, brother of the bride and Matthew C. Michel, brother-in-law of the bride.
Serving as bell ringer was Lucas Timothy Blood, nephew of the bride.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Petroleum Club of Morgan City.
Each table followed the Southern theme and was decorated with a crape myrtle branch, Spanish moss and votive candles. The reception also included a candy buffet with a plethora of candy featured in the wedding colors.
The bride’s cake was four tiers covered in white satin fondant. A ruffled sash with rhinestone brooch draped down the front of the cake.
The groom’s cake was a replica of Louisiana State University’s Tiger Stadium. The table was decorated in a LSU theme, complete with Mike the Tiger in the background.
Attending the guestbook was Kristi M. Blood, sister-in-law of the bride.
Prior to the wedding, the groom’s family hosted a rehearsal dinner at Cafe JoJo’s in Morgan City.
A prenuptial Bridal Tea was hosted by Laura Osborne in honor of the bride.
The bride is a graduate of Morgan City High School and she received a bachelor’s in Humanities from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She received her elementary teaching certificate from Nicholls State University. She is a teacher with St. Mary Parish Public Schools.
The groom is a graduate of Slidell High School and he received a bachelor’s degree in Business from LSU in Baton Rouge. He is a sales executive at Chase Bank.
They honeymooned in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, and reside in Mandeville.
