Officer Ateleigh Braud was introduced as the new K-9 officer at the Morgan City Police Department. Braud and her partner K-9 Dally completed a two-week course with Jack Robicheaux of K-9 Concepts in Abbeville. Braud is the first-ever female K-9 officer for the MCPD.
Sgt. Richard Briscoe, shown at left with Adams, has been promoted to lieutenant and will assume duties as supervisor of the Corrections Division.
Capt. John Schaff, shown with Adams, was recognized for 25 years of service.
Officer Zeke Sampey, shown at left with Adams, was recently promoted to sergeant. He will assume duties as a patrol supervisor.
Promotions, service awards for MCPD officers
Morgan City Police Department officers were recognized at the April 23 City Council meeting for their promotions and time of service. The awards were presented by Chief Chad M. Adams.
