Two St. Mary COVID deaths, 96 new cases reported Friday

Two more COVID deaths and 96 new coronavirus cases were reported Friday for St. Mary Parish by the Louisiana Office of Public Health.
The deaths raise the parish's pandemic death toll to 240. The parish has also recorded 11,008 COVID cases since the pandemic began.
Statewide, 11,317 new cases were reported Friday along with 42 deaths. The number of COVID-positive people in Louisiana hospitals is at 2,304, down 63 from Thursday.
The parish's vaccination rate is now at 42.87%, compared to 51% for the state.
